DEPRESSED ANONYMOUS - DFW

HELP FOR A FUTURE WITHOUT DEPRESSION

WELCOME

 ABOUT DEPRESSED ANONYMOUS

Depressed Anonymous is an international organization to bring together people who suffer the malady of depression so it interferes with their ability to function on a daily basis.
Using a group meeting approach based on a 12 Step program similar to the Alcoholics Anonymous Steps you will learn techniques for overcoming your depression so you can lead a more normal life.
We have formed a group in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area to provide a place for depressed people to meet and communicate with each other.

For more information, you may contact the local organizers at dathecolony@yahoo.com or dathecolony@gmail.com

National information can be found at www.depressedanon.com/

We hope you will take the first Step toward your recovery and join us.

THE AIMS OF DEPRESSED ANONYMOUS:

1. To let the depressed person know that she or he is not alone in his or her struggle with depression. We also help others learn to do pleasant activities together.

2. To provide a group where members can help one another and learn new skills in taking mastery over their lives and begin to live again with hope and joy.

3. To help other members feel better about themselves – today. One day at a time!

4. To educate the depressed person and his or her family about the nature and causes of depression and remove the SHAME of their feeling depressed. It’s OK to admit that we are feeling overwhelmed

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all of our affairs.
